What this site collects, why, and what it does not do.
This page describes what actually happens, not what is customary. If you find something here that does not match what the site does, that is a fault and we would like to know about it.
If you only read
Nothing is collected about you. There is no advertising network on this site, no cross-site tracking, and no third-party analytics script. Your visit is served and forgotten.
If you take part in an activity
You send us an email address and a description of what you did — a link, a couple of sentences, or a note that you will email a photo. We store those, and the points awarded, so that standing can be worked out and so the same submission is not counted twice.
Accepted entries appear on the wall on the Take part page. Your address is not published there. What appears is the first letter and the domain — enough that you can find your own line, not enough for anyone else to find yours.
If you share something
The share buttons record that a share happened, from which page, to which network. They do not record who you are, and they do not set anything in your browser. We count shares to know which pieces travel; we do not know who carried them.
If you buy something
An order needs a name, an address to send it to, and a way to be paid. That is handled by WooCommerce and the payment provider; we keep the order so it can be fulfilled, questioned and refunded. Payment card numbers never reach this site.
Some items are shipped by a supplier rather than by us. To ship an order we pass the delivery address to that supplier. Nothing else about you goes with it.
If you create an account
An account stores your email address and your order history so you do not have to type an address again. You can ask for it to be deleted and it will be, along with everything attached to it.
Cookies
Reading this site sets nothing. A cart or a signed-in session sets what WordPress and WooCommerce need to remember it is you between one page and the next. There is no advertising or profiling cookie, which is why there is no banner asking you to accept one.
Asking
To see what is held about you, or to have it deleted, write to hello@practiceeco.com. We count what we hold before removing anything, so you can be told what is going, and deleting a participation entry removes it from the wall as well.
One thing is kept: if you have bought something, the order record stays. A sale carries a statutory retention period for tax and accounting that a deletion request does not override — and what we hold against it is a one-way hash of your address rather than the address itself. Everything else goes, and what is left afterwards is a hash that can answer whether we erased somebody without recording who.
